Young Girl Chef with Fresh Ingredients
Welcome the kids into the kitchen!  From whimsical to practical, these classes will have your kids enjoying their time in the kitchen!

These children's cooking classes are led by Chef Laura Cochran, chef/owner of Whisk Culinary Services.

Kitchen Takeover
Calling all kids....who like to cook! Surprise your family by making them a delicious dinner one night, as we go step-by-step through preparing a four course meal consisting of soup, salad, entrée and dessert in class so that you can apply your new skills at home.

Let's Do Lunch! A parent and child class
Cooking is a life skill...help your child engage his/her culinary interest by working with you to prepare a light lunch menu that we will then enjoy in class. Non-competitive parent and child teams will prepare Trail Mix, Homemade Guacamole, Monte Cristo sandwiches, Marinated Tomato-Cucumber salad, and Key Lime Cupcakes, under the guidance of Chef Laura. You may take your "extras" with you!

French Baking Mini Camp
Kids can engage their culinary interest, creativity, and sweet tooth all in one class. In this mini-camp we will cover some of the classics such as gateau, macarons, pate a choux and more. We will also prepare some savory baked goods and learn introductory decorating techniques. Bring an apron if desired!

Fun Food MashUps
Come join this culinary class where we will again prepare some fun and delicious foods keeping with the culinary trend of mixing and matching different foods to create something new! Some of our fun foods will be Baked Potato Soup, Enchilada Meatloaf, Chicken and Waffles, and BLT Shortbread Cookie "Sandwiches". Bring an apron if desired.

Li'l Kids Can Cook Too!
Young people are getting inspired to work in the kitchen at younger ages, so let's encourage their interest and get going! Children ages 4-6 will help Chef Laura prepare dinner by making Lasagna Roll-Ups, Italian Garden Salad, Garlic Biscuits, and Chocolate Mousse.

Young Chefs-Getting to Know the Kitchen
This class is about exposing younger children to safety and food handling in the kitchen, as they engage their curiosity for cooking and food preparation. We will prepare a hearty menu beginning with Minestrone soup. We will also prepare Lasagna Roll-ups, Italian Garden Salad, Garlic Biscuits, and individual Chocolate Mousse Pies. Students may bring an apron if desired. Please wear non-skid closed-toe shoes.

Let's Bake Holiday Desserts! A Parent & Child Class
looking to steal the show this holiday season by making delicious desserts and tempting treats? Non-competitive parent and child teams will prepare White Chocolate Cheesecake Cupcakes, Gingerbread Baby Bundt cakes with Maple Glaze, Chocolate-Mint Pie, and Snickerdoodle cookies, under the guidance of Chef Laura. You may take your baked goods with you!

You may take your baked goods with you!

Thyme toCook! Culinary Skills Mini Camp
This class is designed for younger children who have recently taken an interest in cooking, or have been "experimenting" at home and are looking for some structured guidance. Students will progress from the basics of food safety and handling to more complex techniques. We will practice standard cooking procedures such as baking, boiling and sautéing, use fresh herbs and produce, prepare simple sauces, practice knife skills and using a pastry bag, and more! Please note: Common food allergens may be present. Please bring dietary concerns to the attention of Chef Laura at WhiskCulinaryServices@gmail.com prior to registering for class.

French Culinary Experience Mini Camp
Kids can engage their interest in the culinary arts by learning some of the standards set forth by Auguste Escoffier, French chef and restaurateur, who popularized and influenced French cooking methods. Escoffier's recipes will set the premise for our lesson plan in gaining hands-on exposure to the Mother Sauces; traditional cooking techniques and how to employ them: preparing simple syrup, mousse, and ganache and how to apply these in finishing pastries, and lots more! An intense camp for those showing an inclination towards the culinary arts! Please note: Common food allergens may be present. Please bring dietary concerns to the attention of Chef Laura at WhiskCulinaryServices@gmail.com.

Three Squares-Cooking Camp
Space is limited for this cooking camp where the focus is on the traditional "three square meals" of breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Each day will be the focus of one of the themes and we will prepare an array of dishes from western omelets to pulled pork tacos to herb roasted chicken....Please note: Common food allergens may be present. Please bring dietary concerns to the attention to Chef Laura at WhiskCulinaryServices@gmail.com prior to registering for class.
