  • Dear Playground Parents/Guardians,
For the safety of the summer playground campers and staff, York Township has made the difficult decision to postpone the start date for our 2020 summer playground program to Monday, July 6. The postponement date is a pending date based on the guidelines provided by the Governor and CDC. A decision for the remainder of the summer will be determined the first week of June. We are still hopeful to be able to provide a summer playground program beginning July 6, but understand that there may be some adjustments made so that we can properly follow the guidelines provided and we ask for everyone’s patience as we work hard to be able to provide the best, as well as safest, camp for our campers and staff. Details on adjustments will be provided the first week of June, based on the decision for the remainder of summer camp.
In the meantime, the York Township Recreation Department is working hard to provide a “Camp To Go,” at a minimal cost, that will consist of crafts with supplies, games, activities and much more, that can be picked up weekly at the York Township Recreation Department Office beginning June 8.  Further information on “Camp To Go” kits will be emailed by May 31 or posted on our York Township Recreation Page. “Camp to Go” will be limited to 50 kits a week, so stay tuned!
This email will also be followed up with a personal phone call in the coming days and we will be happy to answer any questions at that time!
We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your patience as we all work through these tough times!
    Thank You,
    York Township Recreation Department

*The Volunteen program will start July 6, and a decision on the remainder of the programs will be made the first week of June*
Starting on Monday, May 11th, York Township will resume its public walk-in office hours for Township residents and customers.  The new regular Township administration business hours are weekdays, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
To ensure the safety of the general public, as well as our staff, Individuals will need to enter the building through a main meeting room exit door.  Please pay attention to the outdoor signage.  Upon entering the building, follow the signage and practice proper social distancing.  Residents and customers will be greeted by a receptionist who will provide further directions.
Wearing a mask that covers the mouth and nose is required upon entering the building.  If you cannot wear a mask due to health or religious reasons, please call the Township at 717-741-3861 before entering the building.
We still encourage residents and customers to use mail, email and phone calls to do business with the Township as much as possible.
The Board of Commissioners and staff of York Township thanks all of our residents and customers for their understanding and patience as we navigate these challenging times together.
